    Ventura County Farmers Launch Pesticide Safety Program

    California Department of Pesticide Regulation Director Mary-Ann Warmerdam expressed her "delight" with the turnout of over 400 members of the Ventura County agriculture community to kick of Spray Safe, an initiative to prevent pesticide exposure incidents and improve communications among farmers, applicators and farm employees.

    Members of Kern County agriculture continue to support an industry initiative to reduce incidents of spray drift with the fourth annual Spray Safe event January 30, 2009 in Bakersfield.

    State Agency Funds Farmer Initiative to Protect Workers

    The California Department of Pesticide Regulation has awarded a grant to the Alliance for Food and Farming to expand the Spray Safe program to three additional California Counties. Spray Safe, a program developed by a group of farm interests in Kern County, has received wide praise for its effort to prevent spray drift incidents.
